Since Prof. Sen talks about your wine blogs in the class, I had to visit! I have enjoyed your blog! I am totally a beginner of wine but I enjoy wine a lot. I was in Italy last term and I can't forget about "hot wine" that I had there.. I am thinking about making it sometime. From what I heard of, it is best to use Merlot. Where can I get good "merlot"? Any suggession? -Tomoi
Actually, white wine grapes grow best in the Willamette Valley. Red wine grapes grow best in warmer, dryer areas; however, Levelle, Chateau Lorane and Silvan Ridge import grapes from to produce a Merlot.
I've tried the Silvan Ridge Merlot - it's pretty good. Not my favorite Merlot, but for a local wine, it's good.
